You can't believe how many times I've pondered whether to install something or not. Not knowing if I'm going to keep it meant that I would most likely add some useless registry files to clog up my system. So I embarked on a quest to find the solution. Along my journey I have encountered system and registry cleaners, but none felt enough for me. Until one day, upon reaching the gates of IObit land, an interesting figure approached me and asked if by any chance I'm looking for an unistallation solution. I must admit I was a bit concerned by his direct approach but I finally responded that he was right. He then called for Uninstaller and said "This shall be your companion from now on. Consider your quest completed". And so it was.
The Green Circle of Removal
IObit Uninstaller is part of the larger system maintenance solution from IObit. If by any chance you couldn't care less about anything else IObit, you'll be happy to know that Uninstaller is quite reserved about promoting other apps.
The main function concerns uninstalling applications. This can be done in two ways. A button is placed in the Programs and Features window to be used as a second option in case a program cannot be uninstalled in a normal fashion. The other (better) option is to forget about "Programs and Features" altogether. IObit Uninstaller generates a list of installed programs that also includes individual Windows updates. What's also better is that you can filter programs to find specific items such as recently installed programs or infrequently used ones.
Before uninstalling, you will get to opt for creating a restore point. That is if you want to make sure you can get the exact same thing when you decide to use this Windows feature. Restore points are also accessible through IObit Uninstaller.
After uninstalling a product you will be prompted to opt for a Powerful Uninstall. This operation searches for files and registry entries that were linked to the application but were not removed. You will be shown a list of items and you will get to chose what to delete. For example, you might like to keep saved games of a video game that you want completely removed otherwise.
Aside form programs, IObit Uninstaller also deals with browser toolbars and plug-ins. You will be able to see what you have installed and how well they are received overall by the community. Using a 5 star rating system you may check their reputation and also rate them yourself.
There is also a section for uninstalling Windows 8 metro style apps. For example you can remove Sports, Food & Drink or any other metro tile that you don't need, provided that you at least use the metro interface.
